Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions (hereinafter referred to as “These Terms and Conditions”) explain important notes about the Naganuma Japanese Online Course, an online Japanese language learning service of the Naganuma Institute of Language and Culture, Inc.
The Naganuma Japanese Online Course is offered by the Naganuma Institute of Language and Culture under contract to the Naganuma School – Tokyo School of Japanese Language. Before applying for the Naganuma Japanese Online Course, please be sure to read These Terms and Conditions and promise to abide by them.
I. Definitions of Terms
We refer to the “Naganuma Japanese Online Course” as “This Service”.
We refer to the Naganuma Institute of Language and Culture as “Institute”.
We refer to the Naganuma School- Tokyo School of Japanese Language as the “Service Provider”.
We refer to the person applying for This Service as the “Applicant”.
We call those who are taking and have taken This Service as “Students”.
We call the person who provides This Service as “Teacher” and will inform Students of his/her contact information separately.
II. Use of This Service
- This Service is a Japanese language learning service that combines Prior Learning through online course materials, and interactive live classes using a web conferencing system.
- You shall prepare all necessary telecommunication lines, telecommunication devices, computers, software, etc. for the course by yourself.
- Even if you are unable to receive the course materials or attend classes due to unexpected problems with your Internet connection, telecommunications terminal, telecommunications capabilities, or application programme, or due to a natural disaster, we will not refund you the course fee, nor will we provide replacement classes.
- In the event that a teacher is unable to conduct a class due to illness or other reasons, the class date may be rescheduled.
- Copyrights and all intellectual property rights to all content, text, images, data, and information we provide in This Service (hereinafter referred to as “Content”) belong to us or to the rightful owners. You may not video record, record, photograph, reproduce, edit, process, transmit, sell or publish
Content. You may not use Content in any other way without our permission. - We separately define the period of time during which you may use and view Content provided by This Service.
- You are responsible for the proper management of your user ID and password, etc. (hereinafter referred to as “ID, etc.”) used for This Service.
- You may not allow any third party to use your ID, etc., or lend, transfer, sell, or otherwise dispose of your ID, etc.
- We shall not be liable for any damage caused by your inadequate management of your ID, etc.
- As soon as you become aware that your ID, etc. is being used by a third party, you must contact us and follow our instructions.
- We will freely use your comments, messages, assignments, survey responses, etc. in This Service to the extent that it does not violate your privacy.
- We will manage your personal information strictly and appropriately. We use your personal information to provide you with appropriate educational services. The main purposes of use are as follows:
● We use your personal information to contact you with information necessary for your enrollment in our courses.
● To manage your grades and course history.
● To help us improve the educational content we provide.
● To send you information about Naganuma School.
● To provide your personal information from The Naganuma Institute of Language and Culture to The Naganuma School – Tokyo School of Japanese Language who is Service Provider. - We reserve the right to change These Terms and Conditions at any time.
- Changes to These Terms and Conditions shall become effective when they are indicated in This Service.
- In addition to These Terms and Conditions, we may separately stipulate other necessary matters regarding This Service.
- In the event that a lawsuit becomes necessary between us and you, the Tokyo District Court shall be the exclusive court of first instance for both parties.
- These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Japan.
- Any translation of These Terms and Conditions into a language other than Japanese shall be treated as reference material, and all interpretations shall be based on These Terms and Conditions written in Japanese as the original text.
- Your use of This Service shall be governed by the laws of Japan, regardless of your place of residence.
- We reserve the right to suspend your enrollment even during the course period if we deem that you have engaged in disruptive or disturbing behavior, such as threats, harassment, or religious solicitation, in This Service. We may also refuse new applications or renewals.
- These Terms and Conditions shall become effective as of November 1, 2022.
III. Application Procedures and Payment
- Before applying for This Service, please take a level check. Depending on the result of the level check, you may not be able to take the course.
- There is a limit to the number of Students who can apply for This Service. If the number of Applicants exceeds the limit, the course may not be available.
- The minimum number of Students for This Service is fixed. If there are not enough Applicants, we may not be able to offer the class.
- If you are under 18 years old, your parents or guardian must contact us in advance.
- We reserve the right to refuse an enrollment if there are any falsehoods, errors, or omissions in the application, or if we deem the application to be inappropriate.
- Once you have been accepted, we will send you an invoice by email. please pay the full amount by the payment due date.
- Please follow the instructions on the invoice for payment. Please note that the payer is responsible for any payment charges.
- Prior to confirmation of the arrival of the payment of the course fee, you will not be able to use This Service.
- We do not refund the course fee once paid for any reason.
- For payment by corporations, please contact us separately.
